5 Tips to Drink Water right, in Ayurveda way!





The human body is made up of 60 to 70 percent of water and you need to drink water to stay hydrated and keep your body healthy. Normally, it is suggested to drink at least eight glasses of water as water is required to maintain the body s fluid balance. Drinking water helps in digestion, transport of nutrients and regulates your body temperature. According to Ayurveda, there are some guidelines for drinking water and it helps you stay healthy. Improper way of drinking water can lead to ailments. Here are some tips to drink water the right way as per Ayurveda.

1. Do not gulp down your water

.It is important not to gulp down water. Take small sips and drink slowly. Just like having meals, it is better to have water in small sips rather than gulping down a large quantity of water.

2. Identify your body s signal to know when you are thirsty

You need to look for the signals sent by your body when you are thirsty. One of the indicators is dark urine. You may also get chapped lips if your body is dehydrated. You should be able to know these cues and drink water to rehydrate.

3. Sit down when you drink water

People usually drink water in a hurry while standing but is it not a good practice as it can disrupt your body s fluid balance. This can result in increased risk of fluid accumulation in the joints, leading to arthritis. Sit down to drink water. This will keep your nervous system and your muscles more relaxed, aiding in digestion.

4. Drink lukewarm water

Instead of chilled water, drink lukewarm water. It will help in digestion, relieve pain and bloating, aid in weight loss and improves metabolism. According to experts, drinking tepid water will keep your arteries clear and control the level of cholesterol in your body.

5. Drink water in the morning

Morning is the best time to drink large volume of water. Drinking water on an empty stomach in the morning will help in flushing out the toxins from your body and prevent many diseases. It will also clear your intestine and kidneys. Start drinking around two cups of water and then increase the quantity. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice in it.
